I’ve just recorded a podcast for the culinary tempest that is Katie and Kims Kitchen. These two cooks from Scotland always have a warm and colourful approach to life, with a love of cooking and food at its core.

They won the British Street food awards in 2013, and for me it’s great to see a pair with such hearty honesty getting the recognition they deserve. While good cooking in Britain is often tailored to feel like something fussy and bourgeois, with the nonsense word ‘foody’ used far too often, these two cut through the pomp with a combination of imagination and tradition, and sometimes salt, butter, lard and sugar. Good food for all.
